The Ministry of Basic Education has developed a consistent programme of construction of latrines and water points, and health education. I therefore, invite all teaching staff at all levels to take ownership of this programme in order to achieve the complete eradication of these parasitic diseases''

About the Diseases
Schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis are the most common worm infections affecting people of all ages, especially children as soon as they are old enough to crawl.
The National Programme for the Control of Schistosomiasis and Soil transmitted Helminthiasis has made great strides in reducing the burden caused by these diseases, on the Cameroonian people.
The collective efforts of all our partners, both at national and international level, is what helps to sustain the work the programme is doing in trying to improve the health status of the people.
